Google Keyword Match Types



Keywords:

Keywords are Important Words of the Business.

If My Business is Data Science Training then My Keywords May Be as Follows:

                      1. Data Science Training

                      2. Data Science Training Online

                      3. Data Science Coaching In India Etc.

Keywords can be found Through the Google Keyword Planner, Uber Suggest, Answer The Public.com Etc. 

Keywords are written in Google Ad Account By Advertiser. When Search Term Of  The User Matches With Keyword in the Advertiser Account Then Ad Will Appear.

Google has classified its keywords into Five Types as Follows:

                     1. Broad Match

                     2. Phrase Match

                     3. Exact Match 

                    4. Negative Match

                    5. Broad Match Modifier


1.Broad Match:

Broad Match Keywords Have Maximum Reach With Minimum Relevance. Broad Match Keywords are useful for Advertisers whose main Aim is only Traffic.

If Advertiser Had Written Broad Match Keyword AS DATA SCIENCE TRAINING. Broad Match Keyword will Trigger Ad When Any One Of  Word In Keyword is Present In User Search Term.

2.Phrase Match:

Phrase Match Keyword have Minimum Reach & Minimum Relevance. When Compared To Broad Match Type Phrase Match Type has Good Quality Traffic. Phrase Match Keywords are Written In quotation marks.

If Advertiser Had Written Phrase Match Keyword AS "DATA SCIENCE TRAINING". Phrase Match Keyword will Trigger Ad When All The  Keywords are Present In User Search Term.

3.Exact Match:

Exact Match Keyword have Low  Reach & Maximum Relevance. When Compared To Phrase Match Type Exact Match Type has Good Quality Traffic. Exact Match Keywords are Written In Square Brackets. 

If Advertiser Had Written Exact Match Keyword AS [DATA SCIENCE TRAINING]. Exact Match Keyword will Trigger Ad When User Search Term or Intent Match with Keyword.

4.Broad Match Modifier:

Broad Match Type is More Relevant than Broad & Less Relevant Than Phrase. It gives less reach than broad & more reach than a phrase.

If Advertiser Had Written Broad Match Modifier Keyword AS +DATA +SCIENCE +TRAINING. Broad Match Modifier Keyword will Trigger Ad When User Search Term Contain all the Words in Keyword.

5.Negative Match Keyword:

Negative Keywords are Written to prevent ads to compete in the auction for specific keywords. 

If Advertiser Had Written Negative Keyword As Discount, Price, Free, Online, etc Ad will Not Appear if these words are present in the user's search term.

Always Write Negative  Keywords in  One Word. If Written In 2 Words it will become an embedded match.

Apart From These, There is One More Keyword Type Named Embedded Match.

An embedded Match is a combination of Negative & other Match Type.
